The State of Fertility Treatment in the UK
The IVF Network, of which I am an Advisory Board Member, conducted research important research last year.
The findings from 1,500 respondents revealed a lack of confidence in GPs when it comes to fertility advice and a lack of consumer confidence in the information available about fertility.
It did, however, find that online support networks are invaluable for those undergoing fertility treatment and looking to connect with others/experts to gain further confidence throughout their conception journey.
I’m a huge fan of the work Charlotte Gentry does at The IVF Network, not only to support individuals but to drive change too. As soon as I met Charlotte and she explained The IVF Network to me, I felt an immediate connection. Having navigated the challenging journey of IVF alongside a high-pressure career myself, her passion for supporting people on this journey resonated deeply. What truly sets The IVF Network apart is its holistic approach to fertility support. It's not just about connecting members with top-tier clinicians worldwide, although that is undoubtedly invaluable. It's also about recognising the importance of mental and emotional well-being throughout the fertility journey.
The IVF Network's advocacy for fertility-friendly workplaces and its efforts to influence employment law represent a crucial step towards societal change. By championing these initiatives, they're not only supporting individuals on a personal level but also striving to create systemic improvements that benefit everyone facing fertility challenges.
In a world where fertility issues can often feel isolating and overwhelming, The IVF Network offers information and support. I am proud to stand with them in their mission to empower fertility patients, transform workplaces, and advocate for positive change.
